Where Flame Meets Glass
Each piece is created using a technique known as lampworking, where borosilicate glass is shaped using a high-temperature torch rather than a traditional furnace. Instead of gathering molten glass from a crucible, the process begins with solid glass rods, tubing, and frit (small fragments of ground glass used to add colour and texture). The glass is carefully heated in the flame until it becomes workable, then shaped using a combination of gravity, centrifugal motion, and specialized tools. Every movement must be precise, as the glass responds instantly to heat and motion.
This hands-on process allows for incredible control, detail, and creativity. The result is functional and artistic glasswork where no two pieces are ever exactly the same.
